Alicante SME of the Year shines a light on local growth and sustainable innovation

C3 Systems, based in Elche, with operations in Alcoy and the Chamber of INFORMATION, earned recognition as the SME of the Year in Alicante. The award, supported by the Chamber of Alicante and Banco Santander, highlighted the company among 23 contenders focused on growth, manufacturing enclosures, pergolas, and vertical and horizontal profiles.

The awards ceremony took place at the former Alicante Chamber of Commerce headquarters, a venue that has long hosted the province’s business milestones. The event underscored the vital role that small and medium enterprises play in Alicante’s economy, recognizing how their efforts translate into jobs, wealth, and lasting prosperity. In addition to C3 Systems, several firms were honored across categories. Padel Courts de Luxe from Granja de Rocamora received the Second Prize in Internationalization; Aliventor Group Strategic Development from Alicante was lauded for Digitalization and Innovation; Esatur XXI from Alicante earned recognition in Education and Employment for their tourism-related courses; and Prosolia from the city center of Alicante was celebrated in Sustainability for their leadership in photovoltaic energy solutions. These winners reflect a diverse and dynamic SME landscape in the region, united by innovation and practical impact on daily life.

The ceremony featured a proud display of the local business ecosystem, with a line of speakers who emphasized the ongoing effort to support entrepreneurship. Key figures included the Chamber President, the commercial director of Banco Santander for the Community of Murcia and Valencia, the Director of Companies for Santander in Alicante, the provincial vice-president, and the head of the Chamber’s Alcohol Department. Company representatives from the winning firms stepped forward to receive awards, signaling a collaborative spirit between business entities and supporting institutions.

The winning firm brings over a dozen years of experience and has expanded its footprint to 35 countries, while maintaining a team of around one hundred professionals. The company specializes in the design, production, and sale of glass containment systems, both vertical and horizontal. It earned the distinction of being the first in its sector to receive the Carbon Footprint seal and has held the Innovative SME certificate since 2017. Cepyme recognized it as one of the fastest growing companies in the province in 2021, illustrating its sustained momentum and market presence.

CEO José Fernando Sánchez expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that market penetration has been driven by the company’s adaptable product range, including bioclimatic pergolas designed for outdoor use. He highlighted a clear commitment to sustainability and announced ongoing efforts to integrate photovoltaic systems into forthcoming product lines, signaling a path toward even greener solutions for clients.

Carlos Baño, President of the Alicante Chamber, emphasized Alicante’s SME strength, noting that 144,000 small and medium enterprises form 99 percent of the province’s business fabric. He framed SMEs as the backbone of economic activity and social development, urging ongoing support and recognition for their contributions.

Carlos Jesús Mendoza, Banco Santander’s commercial director for the region, reminded attendees that these enterprises are the real engine of the economy. Eduardo Dolón, the vice president, stressed that state policy will continue to be aligned with aiding business growth next year, expressing pride in the local entrepreneurial community.
