The arrest followed a report from a bar in Alicante where two waiters observed inappropriate behavior on the terrace and contacted the National Police. The incidents reportedly happened around 9:30 PM at a bar in central Alicante. On the terrace of his office, the man sat with his blind son and asked for a beer. The staff did not serve alcohol to the boy, and the man disregarded the seating restrictions and remained on the terrace. Witnesses say he kissed the child repeatedly and touched him inappropriately, a pattern that witnesses describe as sexual in nature and not the sign of a fatherly embrace.
After the alert from the bar, plainclothes police arrived first, approaching the suspect. Observing a hostile attitude, they requested reinforcements, and a uniformed unit arrived shortly after. The father was detained and taken to a patrol car.
