Alicante Chamber of Commerce at Marmomac Verona with a United Stone Gallery Group

The Alicante Chamber of Commerce joined the International Marble, Stone, Design and Technologies Fair Marmomac in Verona, which ran from September 27 to 30. It accompanied a coordinated group of nine Alicante province marble companies alongside Ivace Internacional, Alicante Chamber of Commerce, and Alicante Marble. This collective presentation operated under the Stone Gallery banner, a collaborative initiative launched by the Valencia Community Association to showcase the strength and diversity of the region’s natural stone sector to a global audience.

The Chamber remains committed to helping regional businesses participate in the world’s leading trade events. In a climate of market uncertainty for many exporters, this approach aligns with regional government objectives to support international growth. Stone Gallery positions the Valencian Community as a reliable and innovative supplier of natural stone and marble, capable of delivering complete project solutions. The joint stand presents a cohesive image that emphasizes the sector’s technical capabilities, architectural versatility, and sustainable practices to suppliers and specifiers alike.

This initiative is part of the cooperation agreement between Ivace International and the Chambers of Commerce, funded by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund. The program underlines the role of regional institutions in accelerating cross-border trade and elevating the profile of Valencian materials on the international stage.

For the third time, the Chamber organized the participation of these companies in response to a request from the Marble Association. The participating firms benefited from a substantial subsidy covering 100% of the rental cost for display space and basic decorative elements. This reduces logistical and setup burdens, allowing exhibitors to concentrate on showcasing their panels, samples, and technologies. The remaining costs focus on transporting samples and the travel of staff, enabling a streamlined, cost-effective presence at Marmomac.

Export data

Exports of marble and natural stone from Alicante reached 54.8 million euros in the first half of 2022, marking a year-over-year rise of 10.3 percent. This growth reflects sustained demand in European and international markets and underscores the province’s capability to supply a wide range of finishes and textures that meet high architectural specifications.

Across the Valencian Community, exports accounted for roughly 11 percent of Spain’s total shipments of this product category. The principal destinations included France, the United States, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Morocco, with notable momentum observed in the first half of the current year. Exports to France rose by about 40 percent, while shipments to the United States increased by roughly 43 percent, illustrating strong demand in North American markets for premium stone materials and engineered stone products.

These results highlight the Valencian sector’s growing influence in international construction and design projects. Prospects for the remainder of the year point to continued expansion as builders and designers pursue sustainable, high-quality stone solutions. The collaboration between regional bodies, industry groups, and EU funding channels is expected to sustain marketing efforts, product innovation, and access to new markets through targeted trade shows and business missions. The Marmomac participation stands as a tangible example of how organized, collective export initiatives can amplify reach and reduce entry barriers for smaller firms seeking global exposure. This aligns with broader regional strategies aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Spain’s stone and ceramic industries on the world stage, while maintaining the distinctive character and craftsmanship of Valencian stone products.
