Surveillance and Arrests in a Alicante Drug Operation
A criminal organization operating in Alicante was dismantled after police arrested three individuals involved in large-scale drug distribution, mainly cocaine. During the operation, authorities seized more than three kilograms of cocaine. The suspects were linked to a community garage in a neighborhood near a commercial center, where the group allegedly coordinated their trafficking activities.
The investigation, headed by the Alicante Provincial Judicial Police Brigade and its Drug and Organized Crime Unit (UDYCO), targeted a suspect of Arab origin who allegedly distributed cocaine and used a discreetly equipped vehicle to move the narcotics, cash, or weapons. The car featured a hidden compartment designed to camouflage illegal goods, and police traced its use to the transport of the illicit substance.
Additional information from the inquiry indicated that the suspect stored the narcotics in a garage or storage room located in a residential area in the northern part of Alicante, where quantities of the substance were kept ready for distribution.
Surveillance
The investigative teams deployed surveillance in multiple locations and at different times to monitor activities related to the operation. After several follow-ups, authorities identified the exact vehicle used to transport the narcotics and confirmed the location of the community garage associated with the drug trade. The investigation also led to the identification of another individual who appeared to perform similar duties in protection and distribution of the drugs, acting as an accomplice to the main suspect.
The operation included a detailed examination of the vehicle, revealing four separate compartments built to conceal and transport the drugs. The police carried out formal arrests of the three suspects at the scene.
Following the arrests, authorities conducted a search of the garage. Within the premises, search teams recovered 3,150 grams of cocaine divided into numerous packs, highlighting the scale and delicacy of the distribution network involved in the case.
The detainees were identified as Spanish and Moroccan nationals aged between 35 and 55. They were brought before judicial authorities in Alicante and Elche. The lead investigator in the case was ordered to be imprisoned pending further judicial proceedings.
This operation underscores the efforts of local law enforcement to disrupt drug distribution networks within the Alicante area. By coordinating surveillance, vehicle inspections, and targeted searches of storage facilities, authorities aim to dismantle the infrastructure that supports illegal narcotics trafficking and to hold those involved accountable under the law.
