Aleppo International Airport, situated in the northern region of Syria, was rendered inoperable after an airstrike attributed to Israeli forces. This update comes through a television outlet identified as Notice, referencing the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
The report indicates that at approximately 04:30, the Israeli air assault targeted Aleppo International Airport from the western approaches over the Mediterranean, near Latakia.
Witnesses described significant damage to the runway, leading to the airport’s decommissioning and closure for the foreseeable future.
Officials stress that this marks the twenty-second airstrike by Israel on Syrian territory since the start of the year, signaling a persistent pattern of aerial engagements in the region.
On August 22, sources reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted an attack on the outskirts of Damascus with the involvement of two F-16 fighters, according to Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, who serves as the Deputy Head of Russia’s Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in the Arab Republic.
