In Moscow, Ravil Maganov, chairman of the board of directors of the oil and gas company Lukoil, died after falling from the window of the sixth floor of the Central Design Bureau of the Presidential Administration. Telegraph channels 112 and Mash were the first to report the emergency on Marshal Timoshenko Street.

Mash reported that the body of a 67-year-old senior executive was found by hospital staff under windows, and died from injuries sustained in a fall. “112” also did not give details.

The death of Maganov was confirmed by the Presidential Administration to RBC in the press service of the Central Clinical Hospital with a polyclinic (TsKB). The newspaper writes that the incident occurred around 7.30 am, and that Maganov was fatally injured by falling from a height.

Police officers arriving at the scene are questioning the doctors and patients on duty. They will also need to review the security cameras.

A little later, the media began to search for preliminary versions of the cause of death.

TASS claims Maganov committed suicide, citing a law enforcement source.

“Maganov, chairman of the board of directors of Lukoil, died by suicide in the Central Clinical Hospital on Marshal Tymoshenko Street. He eventually suffered a heart attack and stayed in the hospital. He also took antidepressants,” he said.

At the same time, the Telegram channel Baza reported that the top manager of Lukoil could accidentally fall out of the window while smoking.

A pack of cigarettes was found in the window, and Maganov himself may be on the balcony not intended for exit.

It was also noted that the hospital’s main building, which lacks CCTV cameras, fell from the side – the facade is being repaired. Baza explains that his wife was in the next room and there was no suicide note.

In the oil company itself, it was reported that Ravil Maganov passed away “after a serious illness.”

He has been working in company structures since 1993 and became the chairman of the board of directors until 2020.

According to Msk1.ru, it was Maganov who suggested calling the Lukoil company. It consists of the initial letters of Langepas, Uray and Kogalym, the main oil-producing enterprises of Lukoil.

Father Ravil Maganov was recognized as an honored employee of the oil and gas industry of the USSR, and his brother Nail Maganov is the general director of the Tatneft oil company.

According to the media, Ravil Maganov died on the birthday of Vagit Alekperov, co-owner and chairman of Lukoil until April 2022.
