About a thousand people took part in the first day of the three-day vigil held in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack at school No. 1 in Beslan, North Ossetia. This has been reported TASS referring to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the republic.
“About 1,000 people commemorated the victims at the Beslan school,” the report says.
Leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, headed by Police Lieutenant General Andrey Sergeev also joined putting flowers in the memorial complex at mourning events.
As a result of the terrorist attack on the Beslan school on September 1, 2004, 314 hostages, 186 of whom were children, were killed. A total of 333 people were killed, including rescuers, and more than 800 people were injured of varying severity.
European Court of Human Rights in January considered worthy To pay € 360,000 to the relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack in Beslan and to the victims themselves. The defendant is the Russian state among the plaintiffs – 39 people. The victims’ families were awarded EUR 10,000, the hostages and other victims from EUR 5,000 to EUR 7,000.
