Scientists from the University of Oxford have found that infection with coronavirus increases the risk of certain brain diseases. Research published in the medical journal lancet.

An analysis based on the medical records of more than one million people worldwide found that COVID-19 increases the risk of dementia, epilepsy, psychosis and cognitive deficits (or brain fog).

David Putrino, director of rehabilitation innovation at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, said the study produced some very disturbing results.

“This undoubtedly allows us to see significant neuropsychiatric consequences occur in people with covid, and much more often than those who don’t,” he said.
