In 2017, Alina Petriv from Moscow went on vacation for the first time with her family – they went to the Crimea with her parents and 14-year-old sister Anastasia. And the first joint family vacation ended in failure.
“Nastya always went into the water last – when mom and dad were already swimming. And this time was no exception. It was already four o’clock and my parents and I were sunbathing on the sun loungers when my sister climbed into the water alone. He loved diving, he disappeared as soon as he entered and we all watched him dive, then he reappeared and waved at us.
Only at one point did I notice something strange on his face when he resurfaced, and he quickly began swimming towards the shore with closed eyes. We ran to her, and her whole face was red, she says she can’t open her eyes, and she cries so much that her heart breaks, ”says Alina.
The family immediately called an ambulance, and while driving, Anastasia said that she had dived under the water and felt something soft on her face, which caused her eyes to open sharply when she saw a jellyfish in front of her. Then the girl felt severe pain.
“The brother said that the jellyfish is red and they have a very strong venom. We began to worry even more, Nastya could not open her eyes and her mother also began to cry. Fortunately, the ambulance came quickly and the little one was taken away immediately.
It turned out that the jellyfish stabbed its sister not only in her face, but also in her eyes. He was diagnosed with a corneal burn that needed to be restored. He spent about a week in the hospital so that his vision could be preserved, and when he was discharged, he had a huge blemish on his face for a long time,” she said.
Now Nastya’s injured eye can’t see well, and she has many small burn marks on her face. Since then, Anastasia has absolutely refused to go to sea.
An open broken and bloodstained chaise lounge
Margarita Konakova witnessed an accident on vacation in 2015 when her parents sent her to a children’s camp in Spain. Then, during a trip to the water park, the leader of his detachment was seriously injured.
“We swam calmly and rode the slides until our advisor, Marina, announced a general meeting over the loudspeaker. Frightened, we quickly gathered and went to the place we were told. But when they got there, they were horrified. Another of our counselors, Artyom, was lying on a chaise longue with his eyes closed – unconscious and pale as a sheet, and everything around him was covered in blood.
But this was not the most terrible thing – a bone protruded from the leg just below the knee, and the limb was unnaturally bent. Then it was said that Tema rolled down the hill and flew from head to toe, catching her shorts by the joint. An open fracture as a result,” Margarita shared.
According to him, Artyom was immediately helped by the lifeguards of the water park and the doctor accompanying the children. Then they called an ambulance, which quickly picked up the victim. After collection, all children were immediately taken to another part of the water park to wait for the bus to the hotel. Artem flew to Russia a few days later.
Kid’s pool fight and severed earlobe
On vacation, the daughter of Petersburger Irina Totskaya Alisa also suffered. In 2019, a mother at one of the resorts in Turkey left her five-year-old in the paddling pool while she walked away for a few minutes for lemonade.
“When I came back, Alice was sobbing, holding her ear, everything was covered in blood! Adults who were supposed to watch over the children said they didn’t share a toy with a child and got into a fight.
I approached, removed his hand from his face, and saw how his earlobe with earrings was dangling on a small piece of skin. During the fight, the boy either tore his earlobe or hurt him with something when they fell, ”the statement said.
But the most surprising, according to him, happened later. When they arrived at the hospital, they refused to sew up the girl’s earlobe. After removing the earring, a piece of skin is attached to the ear with something like a Band-Aid and told to wait until it grows back.
“I was horrified, I guess what other Band-Aid…? But in the end, within a few months, it really grew. Now there is even an almost invisible scar, ”said the boy’s mother.
He climbed the Ferris wheel and died of his injuries in the hospital
Oleg Nefedov became an eyewitness to the incident with a tourist a few years ago, everything ended tragically. Then a drunk young man in one of the amusement parks of the Crimea decided to climb the Ferris wheel.
“It was late in the evening, the park wasn’t open that day, but the Ferris wheel was still spinning even though visitors weren’t allowed to ride – even the seats were removed. There was also no protection on the rides – the passages were simply closed. Of course there were a few people.
At one point the drunk boy staggered to the wheel, no one knew what to do there, and suddenly he put the beer bottle on the bench and began to climb the towers on which the wheel stood. He pulled himself straight up on his hands and climbed higher and higher. Until his foot slips. It flew down and crashed onto the pavement with a loud thud. Park workers immediately came running, called an ambulance, he was still alive, ”says Oleg.
Doctors determined that the victim’s neck and back were fractured, they recorded damage to her lower back and several open fractures. Nefyodov does not know whether the young man was saved, but local residents said that the victim died in the hospital.
Manicure scissors stuck in her head
Two years ago, Yevgeny Makarov brought the children of his girlfriend Tatyana, three-year-old twins Anya and Vanya, on vacation to the Krasnodar Territory. In one of the resorts lived relatives of aunt and uncle Eugene. The children’s mother stayed in Moscow a few weeks later to join the family.
“At the beginning of the journey, I was sure that everything would go well. I got along well with the kids and my aunt had five so I thought of course we could handle it. And for the first two weeks everything went well. Until one day he went shopping. It was about five o’clock when my aunt suddenly called me with a terrifying scream and said that Anya had stuck nail clippers in Vanya’s head. Aunt went to fetch milk, and the twins applied for their mother to come. When he was in the kitchen, the kids weren’t sharing the colored cardboards. Coming out of inertia, Anya hit Vanya on the head with the first thing she could get her hands on. Fortunately, the boy was alive, but lost consciousness – the scissors went straight to the temple. I told my aunt to urgently get in the car and take the child to the hospital – it was 5 minutes from home. I went there myself, but by taxi. He tried to get behind the wheel, but his hands were shaking so much he couldn’t.
Thank God there was a good surgeon in the city, Vanya was quickly helped, the scissors passed the ships but did not harm them. As the doctor said, another 10 minutes – and they could not save him. But fortunately, everything went well, ”said Eugene.
