“The US aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, accompanying Pelosi, retreated several hundred kilometers during the night,” said Meng Xiangqing, a professor at the National Defense Academy of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
Pelosi’s arrival in Taipei came despite protests from Beijing, which caused an extremely negative reaction from the People’s Republic of China. In response to the speaker’s corresponding move, China has launched large-scale military exercises around Taiwan and partially restricted the export and import of certain goods to the island.
