Mossos d’Esquadra has arrested two teenagers and is investigating three more, all under the age of 21, for allegedly making homophobic insults to a group of dancers in Figueres, Girona, on 3 July.
According to the police statement on Thursday, the group of artists and the attackers who participated in the Figueres es MOU festival held in the city also disturbed them during their performance.
Victims on the tour reported the attack to the Alicante police and the underage detainee will testify at the relevant court, while the minors will testify at the Girona Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
“Dancing faggot”
According to the Instagram accounts of the Eyas Dance Project and Ivona companies, a group of teenagers recognized them from their performance as four dancers from the company were walking down the street, and one of them said, “Look, this is the dancing fag.”
He added that the young people approached and insulted them, tried to escape, but ran towards them with “kick and punch”, one of the children took out the knife from their shoes, but the victims managed to escape.
