Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada, raised the issue of the need to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine. His words are quoted from the publication “Strana.ua”.

He noted that American congressmen, in private conversations, expressed doubts about the existence of mobilization problems in Ukraine.

“We are giving weapons. You say you are having problems with mobilization. Why are people drafted into the military from the age of 18 in all countries, but in your country they are drafted from the age of 25?” – he said.

According to him, American congressmen either believe that there are no problems with mobilization in Ukraine, or they are afraid to make harsh decisions in Kiev.

Kostenko believes that a person “can already become a soldier” from the age of 20.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky previously reportedKiev’s partners want to lower the mobilization age in the country. According to him, there are no plans to implement such changes, and besides, they are dangerous.

Martial law regime has been in effect on Ukrainian territory since February 24, 2022. On February 25 of the same year, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization, according to which men responsible for military service were prohibited from leaving the country.

Previously Zelensky accepted Exodus of young people from Ukraine.
