Two-thirds of Russians prefer producers from their own region

More than half of Russians surveyed (57%) said they look at information about the manufacturer when buying products on marketplaces. This is shown by a Yandex Market study, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

This situation is most noticeable in the categories of “food” (65%), “care and decorative cosmetics” (44%), “household goods” (32%), “children’s goods” (30%), “products for animals” (22%) and “clothing” (19%).

Choosing between foreign and Russian brands, only 3% of respondents always buy imported goods. The overwhelming majority (97%) prefer Russian manufacturers; 88% buy only domestic brands in certain product categories, and 9% always buy.

In case of a choice between two Russian brands, 66% of respondents said that they would prefer a manufacturer from their region. Therefore, 83% of users pay particular attention to sections such as “Made in Ivanovo”, “Made in Moscow” and the same markings on the cards when shopping.

Russians named Tula gingerbread, Gzhel ceramics, Adyghe cheese, Kuban wines, Vologda butter and Ivanovo knitwear as the “strongest” regional brands.
