An Australian man drank unfiltered raw water and contracted a parasite that ate away part of his lung. Unilad.
Chris Capper said that he was visiting friends and drank a glass of unfiltered spring water there. After a while, his condition worsened. The man began to visit doctors who could not diagnose him for a long time. Only two years later he was informed that he was most likely infected with non-tuberculosis mycobacteria, which are also found in raw water.
Capper said the infection left his kidneys working at only 6 per cent and the disease had spread throughout his body. The Australian now has to take 16 tablets a day. The parasite has also eaten away part of the man’s lung.
“The doctors don’t even know if their treatments will work. They don’t know much about this virus, so I get the impression that the doctors are just waiting to see what happens to me next,” Chris complained.
Previously, the mother was diagnosed with a rare disease can’t stand the laughter of his children.
