Russian Checkmate fighter attracts attention in the Middle East

Many countries in the Middle East are showing interest in the Russian light tactical fighter Checkmate and proposals for the project have been submitted to them, this was stated by Rosoboronexport General Director Alexander Mikheev. RIA Novosti.

On the sidelines of the international Egypt International Air Show exhibition held at El Alamein airport in northern Egypt, Mikheev said that various modifications to the aircraft were planned, including unmanned and two-seater.

Su-75 Checkmate (“Checkmate”) is a fifth-generation Russian stealth multi-role combat aircraft being developed as an export project. Its distinguishing feature is the ability to adapt to customer needs. It is assumed that the aircraft will have a speed of Mach 1.8, and a combat radius of 3 thousand kilometers. The Checkmate’s payload will exceed seven tons. The fighter will be able to simultaneously hit up to six targets.
