Regarding the Austin gigafactory, Tesla has begun offering customers in the United States the first vehicles built with the new 4680 battery cells, which offer faster charging capacity and higher energy density than the previous generation.

Tesla said in a statement that it continues to invest in expanding the capacity of its factories “to maximize production.” It produced a total of 563,987 vehicles in the first six months of 2022, of which 258,580 were produced in the second quarter. In addition, in the first half of the year, the company delivered 564,743 vehicles.
