A court in the Sverdlovsk region found a woman guilty of causing an accident. In this regard reports district attorney’s office.
The incident occurred in Alapaevsk. According to investigators, on the day of the incident the Russian woman was drunk. She got behind the wheel of the car in which her pregnant cousin and 16-year-old stepson were traveling.
At one point, he lost control, went off the road at excessive speed and then crashed into trees.
“After the convict left the vehicle, the vehicle caught fire due to the damage received, including the emergency operation of electrical equipment,” the ministry said.
It was not possible to save the passengers who were unable to get out of the cabin at the time of the accident.
A criminal case was opened against the Russian woman and she pleaded guilty. The court sentenced her to eight years in prison, which she will spend in a general regime colony. She will serve her sentence after her child turns 14.
