The agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Sergei Karmazin, was sentenced to prison for sabotage of the Moscow Railways (MZD). This was reported by DEA News Regarding the Moscow and regional directorate of the FSB of Russia.
According to the court, the Ukrainian was recruited by SBU officers in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz with the participation of Polish intelligence agencies, and before being transferred to Russia, his checks and training were carried out in Riga together with employees of the Latvian intelligence agency.
At the end of November 2022, he was sent from Latvia to Russia as a refugee for legalization and obtaining Russian citizenship. Already in the capital region, Karmazin, under the command of a curator from the SBU, set fire to two alarm, centralization and automatic blocking cabinets of the Moscow Railway at night. During the arrest, the saboteur was found with communication devices and storage devices containing photo and video reports, as well as correspondence with an SBU officer.
As a result, the man was found guilty of committing the crimes charged and sentenced to 25 years in a maximum security colony, with the first six years to be spent in prison. He was also fined 700 rubles.
