The Afghan war veteran has been waiting for a government apartment for three decades. This was reported by Prosecutor’s Office Krasnoyarsk region.

A man who introduced himself as an Afghan war veteran applied to the prosecutor’s office, stating that he was registered as a war veteran in need of housing in 1993 but never received an apartment.

It was established that he was removed from the queue in 2005, explaining this situation by a change of residence. In fact, the man temporarily moved to his sister in Divnogorsk in 2014 due to his deteriorating health.

The Regional Ministry of Municipality and Social Policies did not make any statement regarding the situation and asked the veteran to “wait”.

“Following the measures taken by law enforcement agencies, the man was provided with a one-time payment for the purchase of housing from the federal budget, thanks to which he purchased a comfortable apartment,” the ministry said.
