The former mayor and his son are suspected of committing fraud while receiving grants to support entrepreneurship. This was reported press service Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation.
According to the ministry, the individuals in question are suspected of abuse of office and forgery of official documents.
According to the investigation, in 2018, the former mayor, knowing that his son would not engage in animal husbandry, signed a letter of recommendation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic for a competition aimed at supporting novice farmers.
“Thus, the head of the region contributed to his son receiving illegal grants in the amount of 2.9 million rubles,” the Investigative Committee noted.
