Weed removal continues in the Moscow region

As part of the fourth summer maintenance cycle in the Moscow region, specialists eliminated more than 2.2 thousand hectares of weeds and mowed down unwanted vegetation along 26 thousand kilometers of roadside strips in the Moscow region, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure reported.

As noted by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region Alexey Gerzhik, specialists are also completing the restoration of signs.

“We have updated approximately 10 thousand pedestrian crossings and approximately 11 thousand kilometers of linear markings,” he said.

Gerzhik added that experts demolished more than 1 thousand kilometers of fences and more than 5 thousand kilometers of pavement.

The ministry recalled that road services in the region switched to summer maintenance in April. In addition to traditional summer cleaning work, experts are repairing pavement defects, stop pavilions, traffic lights, lighting lines, fences, signs and artificial bumps on the road.
