The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation added an article of official forgery to the indictment against the former commander of the 58th Army, General Ivan Popov. This was reported by TASS.
“He is accused of committing crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: especially large-scale fraud (Article 159) and official fraud, which entailed a serious violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, organizations or legally protected interests of society or the state,” an employee of the Investigative Committee said.
It is reported that Popov did not admit his guilt.
