The Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences is working on the creation of the RT-13 radio telescope at the Ussuri Astrophysical Observatory, a station in the Far East; This development is the biggest breakthrough in the institution. In this respect kp.ru said Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nikolai Zheleznov, senior researcher at the Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to him, observations with a radio telescope can begin in a few years. The astronomer explained that the main tasks of the institute are to ensure communication between terrestrial and celestial coordinate systems.

“We observe quasars and satellites, determine time correction, coordinates of the pole. All this is important for the perfect operation of GLONASS satellites. For this purpose, we created a radio interferometry complex “Kvazar-KVO” consisting of three stations: in Svetly (Priozersky district of the Leningrad region), in Zelenchuk (North Caucasus) and in Buryatia. Fourth, as I said before, it is close to Ussuriysk,” Zheleznov said.

He added that the institute is also developing its own paid EPM theory.

June 15 National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) USA It was announced about plans to send a small satellite into orbit that would mimic a real star. The device would help calibrate telescopes at Earth-based observatories.

former astronomer answeredwhether extraterrestrial civilizations exist.
