To undermine Russia’s military-industrial complex (MIC), Western countries need to change their approach to their affairs. This is stated in report British Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
Analysts Jack Watling and Gary Somerville believe that the West should strengthen the exchange of information with Ukraine about the Russian military-industrial complex and try to attack the supply chains of enterprises. Analysts argue that this is the most vulnerable element of the entire structure.
To implement this strategy, it is recommended to create a single center that will request the necessary information from intelligence services, customs, law enforcement, sanctions authorities, financial institutions, business, and the military.
Analysts believe that one of the reasons why the West has not been able to successfully stop the expansion and strengthening of the Russian military-industrial complex is the passivity of Western countries in this regard.
Former US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns statedHe said that Russia’s defense industrial base has become much stronger than before the conflict in Ukraine.
