The national qualifying stage of the international street culture and sports competition was held in Costa Rica “Kardo”. Based on the results, two winners were determined who would represent their countries in the grand final in Stavropol. This was reported by the press service of the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities”, which organized the competition.
The qualifying stage was held in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, in two areas: “Breaking” and “BMX”.
More than 120 participants from all over the country came to the competition at José Maria Zeledon Skatepark. Their performances were followed by fans and listeners of local radio “94.7 Pura Vida Radio”.
Addressing the competition participants, First Deputy General Director of the “Russia – Land of Opportunities” platform, Alexei Agafonov, noted that the “Cardo” competition creates a community of street culture and sports figures where everyone has the opportunity to show themselves and reveal their talents. .
The winner of “Breaking” was “BMX” – Gamaliet Osegueda and Jeffrey Delgado. The best rider and dancer will go to the grand final of the project in Stavropol on August 22-25.
The organizers of the competition noted that the project has grown significantly over its seven-year existence. This year, 10 national stages will be held and over 1,000 street culture and sports figures from different countries will participate in the award.
According to Valentin Rabotenko, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Physical Culture, Sports and Wellness of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, head of the public organization “Streets of Russia”, the appearance of the national stages of the Cardo competition has created great excitement and attracts interest among people all over the world.
“This project brings together people from different countries, regardless of politics, and provides an opportunity to develop their potential in the field of street culture and sports,” Rabotenko said.
