An extremely rare figurine of a Star Wars character was sold at auction in the United States, the publication writes. UPI. The buyer paid 525 thousand dollars for it.
According to Heritage Auctions, which organized the auction, the Boba Fett toy from “Star Wars” became the most expensive in history, surpassing the one-carat diamond Barbie figurine that sold for $302,000 in 2010.
“The rocket-firing Boba Fett figurine has long become so legendary that people all over the world know about it even if they never collect anything,” said Joe Maddalena, vice president of Heritage Auctions.
The cost of the toy is due to the fact that only two copies were released in the 1970s.
“We knew this toy had a chance to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records, and it was great to see it become the most valuable toy in the world,” Adam added.
