The Chelyabinsk resident fully admitted his guilt and stated that the fraudsters who blackmailed him acted on behalf of investigators and Central Bank employees. He believed them and took out a few loans and sold his flat before committing arson.
As a result, the court found the defendant guilty of attempting to deliberately damage someone else’s property and, taking into account mitigating circumstances, gave the defendant a one and a half year suspended prison sentence with a two-year probationary period.
