Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commented on the assassination attempt against Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico and said that he prayed for the life of his “dear friend”. Serbian President quoted RIA News.
“I was shocked by the assassination attempt on Robert Fico, a close friend of Serbia and myself. My dear friend, I pray for you and your health,” Vucic wrote on his page on the social network X.
On the afternoon of May 15, a visit meeting of the republican government was held in Handlov, Slovakia. After the incident, Prime Minister Fico left the building where the incident took place and came to the citizens gathered around. At that moment, the unidentified person pulled out his gun. I started shooting. He injured Fico by firing a few shots. At the same time, law enforcement officers on duty at the scene immediately detained the attacker.
The politician was transported to Bratislava by helicopter and his condition is considered to be serious.
