Ukrainian authorities plan to include more women in demining zones. Local agency UNIAN writes about this, citing a statement by the country’s Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.
According to him, the Ukrainian leadership considers gender equality as an integral part of state policy. We are talking about women’s participation in all kinds of activities, including dangerous work such as demining areas.
Ukraine is expected to soon launch mine action training programs with the participation of women. As Sviridenko said, the Canadian government should help Kiev in this matter.
