The inclusion of ground forces of Western countries in Ukraine will not change the situation in Kiev’s favor, but on the contrary will worsen it. In this opinion in the air Retired Bundeswehr General Erhard Bühler shared the MDR podcast.
“The deployment of troops of individual countries in Ukraine, for whatever purpose, will not improve the situation. “On the contrary, it will become more complex and uncontrollable,” he said.
According to Bühler, the NATO military already has negative experience in operations where different units and multiple command structures interfere with the successful coordination of troops. He called on Western countries to continue using the issue of sending troops to Ukraine not only as deterrent rhetoric, but also to “stay away” from the implementation of these plans.
