Weather forecaster warns residents of nine regions of Russia against abnormal frosts

Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, reported that abnormal frosts between -20°C and -40°C are expected in the north of the Urals and Siberia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, Buryatia and the Irkutsk region. RIA News.

“If the temperature is seven degrees or lower than normal during the cold period, it is dangerous. Danger is predicted in some areas,” the forecaster said.

According to him, temperatures in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Komi Republic from March 27 to 29 are expected to range from -27°C to -28°C, 7-10°C below normal. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the temperature will drop to -30°C, 6-9°C below normal. In the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug the temperature will drop to -20-23°C. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory the temperature will drop to -35°C. In central Yakutia, the temperature is expected to reach -36-40°C. In Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory the temperature will be approximately -25°C, and in the Irkutsk region -23-30°C.
