A new page has opened around you ‘Ministry of Time’ and its similarity to ‘Ministry of Time’. RTVE sent a bureaufax to the British BBC stating: ““It may constitute a crime classified as plagiarism” with the production of his new series As Vertele explains.
“In light of published information to which we have access, the production and distribution of the audiovisual work ‘Ministry of Time’ without prior permission is would infringe the copyright of the original audiovisual workThe letter to the UK public broadcaster states that this is wholly owned by RTVE and could constitute an offense classed as plagiarism.
“As you can understand, given the situation and the social impact RTVE has on its audience, it is not possible for RTVE to remain passive and we have no choice but to condemn this situation. Moreover, the production and distribution of this audiovisual work is at a high level. It could harm not only RTVE but also the authors of the original audiovisual work. “There are those who have already expressed their concerns to RTVE,” he continues.
RTVE also requested that both public bodies become members of the EBU to drive this solution: “Taking into account the cooperation that we have traditionally maintained and enjoyed in our respective countries as public broadcasters and members of the European Broadcasting Union, We have no doubt that this situation may have arisen from a misunderstanding or that there may be an explanation for it.“.
This letter, signed by Ernesto Real Millán, director of RTVE’s legal rights department, states: “We therefore ask that you contact us to clarify what happened. We hope to hear from you to reach an agreement.”
The reaction to the publication of this bureaufax was unexpected. Javier Olivares, one of the creators of the Spanish series, published a post on his Twitter account (now known as X) expressing his opinions on the subject: “I don’t even add a comma. Thank you TVE“.
