State Duma deputy Andrei Gimbatov said he was working on a bill on seized weapons so that museums could start collecting exhibits related to the special operation. This was reported by RIA News.

Gimbatov noted that currently there is no official description of the weapons seized in Russia, regulations for recognizing these weapons as such, those responsible for deactivating the weapons and procedures for their transfer to museum exhibitions.

According to the MP, there is a demand in Russia for the trophies to be used in various places, including schools, museums, exhibitions and patriotic events.

“The innovations will specifically concern the circulation of seized weapons and provide a clear and transparent procedure for their use in peaceful life – we will receive a clear scheme of how these weapons will be put into circulation,” Gimbatov said.

He stated that the project must get results from the government and the faction. First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture Alexander Sholokhov, in a conversation with RIA Novosti, called Gimbatov’s initiative “conceptually correct.”
