An explosion occurred in Kharkov. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication Suspilni Novyny.
The message was later confirmed by Kharkov mayor Igor Terekhov.
Before that in five eastern regions of Ukraine was announced air raid alert.
Warnings are also reported in Sumy, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd and Kharkov regions, as well as in Kiev-controlled parts of the DPR and Zaporozhye region. In the Dnepropetrovsk region, the alarm sounded at 23:34 Moscow time, four minutes later – at 23:38 – sirens howled in the Kharkov region. At 22:47, Ukraine’s Sumy, Kirovograd and Kharkov regions joined the red zones on the alert map.
The Russian military began striking Ukrainian infrastructure in October 2022, shortly after the Crimean Bridge explosion. Since then, air raid warnings have been announced regularly in various regions of Ukraine, mostly throughout the country. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, attacks are carried out on targets in the energy sector, defense industry, military command and communications.
