According to him, there has never been a situation in the modern history of the country where the election results were so clear. He emphasized that digital measurements of the preliminary results point to a decisive victory for current President Vladimir Putin.
“The turnout rate announced by the Central Election Commission is 77.44 percent. Vladimir Putin’s result is more than 87%. “This is the most important confirmation of public support for the president’s course,” he added.
As noted by Valery Fedorov, general director of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), sociological forecasts and election calculations were successful. According to him, all the trends were calculated and the candidates were placed in the predicted order.
“There are deviations in participation; we expected 71%. Based on Vladimir Putin’s results, we too expected a slightly lower result than what actually happened. As a result of these elections, a new political reality was born. “The result achieved by Vladimir Putin was a supermajority in the presidency,” the expert added.
In contrast, political scientist Alexander Asafov, first deputy chairman of the RF OP commission responsible for public review of draft laws, noted record turnout and support for Putin in Moscow.
“Turnout in Moscow has never been higher: 66%. Remote electronic voting is an election tradition for Moscow; “68% of Muscovites preferred this,” he said.
According to him, this overall level of participation is due not only to ideological factors, but also to increased confidence in the electoral system.
Pavel Danilin, associate professor at the Financial University of the Government of the Russian Federation, director of the Center for Political Analysis and member of the Moscow Public Chamber, noted that the elections took place without scandals and discrediting materials among the candidates.
