“Piano Day Alicante” is an example of contemporary and innovative artistic proposals around the piano. It’s a way to offer new approaches to the sound of the instrument, its structure, and its integration into the present. In this way, Alicante participates in the international Piano Day proposal supported by composer Nils Frahm. In this issue, we show the following works:
Magda Arques – “Uncertainty”
@magdaarques
IMAGES, MACHINES AND LIVE CODING
Drawing on JS Bach’s The Art of Fugue, Magda explores the representational possibilities of this unfinished work. Applying the same compositional concepts such as recursion and ambiguity, he creates a visual session where video, digital programming and analog servo motors coexist, where the technology is revealed to be chaotic yet transparent.
Carles Pedrón (srcharli) – “Smart”
@sr.charli_artist
CONCERT WITH IMAGES
Visual and sound improvisation, where sound moves over the image and creates unique audiovisual spaces created by and for the moment. It’s temporary but memorable. It is a conversation between the analog and digital worlds; It combines piano, analog synthesizers and sound objects with the virtual instruments designed for this project, creating an instinctive and magnetic orchestra.
