Russian aerial bombs equipped with guided planning and correction modules (UMPC) are difficult to detect by Ukrainian air defense systems and therefore pose a particular danger to the enemy. This opinion was expressed in an interview with the TV channel. LCI French Colonel Vincent Arbaretiere.
The colonel explained that at the moment when a fighter-bomber is launched, an aerial bomb with UMPC is 60-70 kilometers from the target.
“We don’t see it flying to its target because it’s hard to detect and it’s stealthy,” he said.
Arbaretiere added that the UMPC takes into account the presence of the enemy’s electronic warfare systems and can counter them. The bomb itself is capable of destroying reinforced concrete structures and fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
