Omsk metro was secured to prevent citizens from canoeing through flooded tunnels. In this respect reports “Omsk-inform”.
“City 55” at the end of January reportedthat the authorities are ready to spend more than 10 million rubles for these purposes. This amount was allocated by the “Customer Office for the Construction of Transport Facilities and Hydraulic Structures” for the contractor to organize two round-the-clock security posts at the unfinished Kristall and Zarechnaya stations from March to 24 December this year. Each task must have at least four workers without special protective equipment and weapons, according to the customer’s requirements. They must patrol the area and ensure that no strangers enter the premises.
As of March 1, the execution of the private security company Asgard started. Deputy Governor of the Omsk Region Dinar Kurmanov explained the need for posts due to the entry of uninvited guests into a closed space. In 2021, residents of the area passed through the flooded subway tunnel with inflatable boats and had a barbecue at the unfinished station.
“Security is needed to exclude such cases,” Kurmanov emphasized.
The decision to build the Omsk metro was made in 1986. Due to lack of funding, construction only started in 1992. The metro was planned to be put into service in 2008, but it was postponed many times. Recently, it was learned that the authorities will take a federal infrastructure loan and open a light rail line instead of the metro in the city.
Previously Ministry of Transport Recommended Omsk will complete the construction of a single station metro.
