A meeting of the Federation Council is scheduled for Wednesday, where it will discuss a bill banning foreign agents from advertising on behalf of individuals and legal entities. Interfax writes about this issue with reference to the parliamentary agenda.
The proposed amendments will amend the laws “On control of the activities of persons under foreign influence” and “On advertising”. According to the new rules, in addition to advertising on the information resources of foreign agencies, it will also be prohibited to advertise the information resources of foreign agencies.
The bill provides that both advertisers and advertising distributors will be held responsible for violations of the established requirements. Changes are also being made to the “Mass Communication Law”, which prohibits the placement of advertisements of foreign agents’ information sources and internet sources in the media.
