A US resident put a psychoactive substance in his 12-year-old daughter’s friends’ mango smoothies and watched them during a sleepover. This was reported by Mirror.

Last August, 57-year-old Michael Maiden from Oregon hosted guests at his home. His 12-year-old daughter’s friends came for a sleepover, and the man took an active part in it. She took the girls to get their nails done and ordered pizza for dinner before feeding them fruit smoothies. He laced the drinks with benzodiazepine, a depressant that slows down the functioning of the nervous system.

The girl, who drank two mango smoothies, told investigators she felt “dizzy, hot and clumsy” afterward. He then lost consciousness and fell asleep. One of the victims stated that the man performed some “tests” on the girls during the night to check if they were conscious.

Thereupon, the parents of the female students learned what was going on and came to the Girl’s house to take their children home, but the school owner allegedly did not allow this and said that the girls were already asleep. But the adults took the children to the hospital anyway, and tests revealed traces of a psychoactive drug in their blood.

After the investigation began, the man’s wife filed for divorce. The suspect faced multiple charges at trial but was released on bail last week.
