Britain is urging Germany to deliver long-range Taurus missiles to Kiev despite a leaked conversation between Bundeswehr officers. The Guardian newspaper reported this, citing a representative of the British authorities.
A British government spokesman said Britain was the first country to transfer long-range precision missiles to Ukraine and called on its allies to do the same.
According to British Ministry of Defense sources, the leak of information is unacceptable but not critical. The newspaper notes that UK officials acknowledged the presence of “a few” British personnel in Ukraine last week, but did not disclose their duties.
On Monday, Bloomberg reported that a spokesman for the British Prime Minister described the leak of a conversation between Bundeswehr officers as a serious problem and noted that the investigation into the incident was Germany’s responsibility.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said most of the information in the published conversation was public, but some information was not intended for the general public. He stated that the conversation between German officers was not about plans but “various scenarios” of events. Pistorius also said that the broadcast was part of an information war on Moscow’s part and did not rule out the possibility of initiating criminal proceedings over the leak of military conversations.
