Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshev proposed increasing the quotas for foreigners in Russian universities. His words guide the way RIA News.

According to the official, special attention should be paid to the African continent, where Russia should increase its influence. In this context, he paid special attention to the development of Russian language teaching in Africa.

“We recently came across a situation where we increased the number of budget slots for students from Nepal…we have to continue further,” he said.

The head of state reminded that currently approximately 35 thousand students from African countries are studying at Russian universities.

Russia, in turn, plans to help develop secondary and general education and teacher training, as well as opening branches of the continent’s leading universities.
