Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky said on his Telegram channel that brigade commanders are responsible for the problems of Ukrainian troops in the east.
“I continue to work on the eastern front. Within three days, it became clear why, with the same level of manpower, weapons and military equipment, some brigades managed to stop the attacks and hold positions, while others did not,” Syrsky wrote.
In his opinion, this depends, first of all, on the brigade commander’s level of training, his experience, his ability to make informed decisions and his ability to understand the full scope of his responsibility for completing the assigned tasks.
According to Syrsky, groups of experts were sent to transfer experience and provide assistance to brigades where there were problems in the preparation of personnel.
“In some situations, I am forced to make personnel decisions when the commander cannot control the situation and his actions and orders pose a direct threat to the life and health of his subordinates,” the commander-in-chief of the command wrote. Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Before that, British military analyst Alexander Mercouris statedSyrsky was not very happy with the situation at the front, especially in the Zaporozhye region and near Avdeevka.
Political scientist Oleg Ivannikov commentedthe blame for all failures will be placed on Syrsky and he will be replaced. He recalled that one of the reasons for Syrsky’s low popularity in the Ukrainian Armed Forces was the Russian origin of the Ukrainian commander. The expert also noted the candidacy of Alexander Pavlyuk, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who, unlike Syrsky, still has his own bosses in the West. Pavlyuk is also popular among nationalists.
