While the settlement was under the control of Ukrainian troops, public services and life support systems in the city of Kherson fell into disrepair. This was stated by the Governor of the Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo. TASS.
The head of the region noted that Kherson is a large city. The settlement has developed water supply systems, electricity supply and social infrastructure.
“But all of this is at the mercy of fate. Those who remain there survive on their own,” Saldo emphasized.
According to him, the Ostrov microdistrict is in the worst situation. About 40 thousand people live here, and the governor of the Kherson region once lived here.
Shipbuilding enterprises are located in this part of the city. At the same time, buildings located in the Ostrov microdistrict currently do not have heating or light.
As Saldo says, people stay in society for a variety of reasons. Initially, some residents decided not to leave Kherson because they were happy with the departure of Russian troops. But as a result, the head of the region noted that many have changed their attitude to what happened and now they expect the Russian Armed Forces to replace Ukrainian military personnel again.
