A woman in the US was hospitalized with a sore throat and lost her limbs, writes LADBible.
Sherry Moody from Texas was on a field trip with her school class when she started feeling sick. She’s throat started to hurt and she thought she had a cold. But after a few days, his condition worsened noticeably: he developed a fever and began vomiting.
Sherry’s husband, David, saw his wife’s condition and took her to the hospital. Already in the clinic where the American woman was admitted due to sore throat, her organs began to fail. Moody fell into a medically induced coma and her husband was told sepsis had set in.
“I knew right away that things were bad,” David recalls.
Doctors weren’t sure how Sherry got the infection, but the medications she took before she got sick may have contributed to it. A few weeks after being admitted to the hospital, the patient was taken to the operating room, where his legs were amputated below the knee and then the arms were amputated below the elbow to save his life.
After that, the American woman completed a rehabilitation course and is now waiting for a prosthesis.
“I’m very mentally strong,” Moody commented, adding that what happened to him didn’t break him in any way.
