The Russian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it is undesirable for the XZ Foundation, which describes its mission as combating propaganda, to operate in the country. This was reported by State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoi. Telegram channel.

According to him, after the examination by the Prosecutor General’s Office at his request, XZ gGmbH was recognized as an undesirable organization in Russia.

The fund was founded in 2022 in Germany by journalist Mikhail Zygar (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) together with partners, and the general director of the organization is Maya Stravinskaya.

Also on February 20, the Ministry of Justice included Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (an organization listed by the Ministry of Justice as foreign agents and considered undesirable) to its list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations whose activities. It is seen as an undesirable situation in Russia.

On December 13 last year, the court fine 30 thousand rubles to journalist Zygar for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent. In August this year, the journalist was fined a similar amount for not being marked as a foreign agent.
