Red Book birds spotted in Moscow parks

According to official reports, rare birds listed in the Red Book, such as gray heron, moorhen and mandarin duck, were discovered in Ostankino and Severnoe Butovo parks in Moscow Web site mayor of the city. Moscow mandarin ducks are introduced species, animals that have been deliberately or accidentally moved by humans out of their natural habitat into a new habitat. There are approximately 25 thousand pairs of mandarin ducks worldwide, and 15 thousand pairs of them live in Russia.
