The Russian Ministry of Defense has banned airmen from using agricultural drones to cultivate agricultural land in the temporary closed sky zone in the southern and central part of the country in 2024. This was reported by RBC With reference to sources.

It was noted that the regions covered by this ban include the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Voronezh, Lipetsk and Tambov regions.

Difficulties in field cultivation in the south began in 2022 due to overcast skies and NWO. The General Staff initially limited the number of aircraft that could participate in the chemical treatment of the fields, allowing only some An-2 planes and Mi-2 helicopters to fly. Thereupon, the Ministry of Defense requested the mandatory installation of ERA-GLONASS compatible aviation tracking devices on aircraft.
