Russian pilots Ivan Boldyrev and Roman Skobets managed to survive twice while serving in the special military operations (SVO) zone. Their story is told “Russian newspaper”.

Even at the beginning of the special operation, the pilots of the Ka-52 Crocodile attack helicopter opened the way for Russian paratroopers to Gostomel airfield, located in the suburbs of Kiev. At one point the Ukrainian military shot down the helicopter, but the crew managed to land it safely. After that, Boldyrev and Skobets took up defensive positions and began firing, not allowing the enemy to get too close to the crashed Ka-52.

A month later, these pilots were launched from a helicopter for the first time in the world. This happened when they came under renewed fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On the ground, Boldyrev and Skobets immediately threw off their parachutes and ran to the side. Ukrainian artillery immediately began to attack the canopies of their parachutes. An evacuation group soon arrived and picked up the pilots. There were no serious injuries.

In the spring of 2022, Boldyrev and Skobets became Heroes of Russia. They continue to fly with the same crew on the Ka-52 Crocodile.

Before that, Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov said About the success of the crew of the Il-76 military aircraft, which was shot down in the sky over the region on January 24.
