Krasnodar’s Kuznya team won the physical martial arts tournament at the Future Games. This was reported by the press service of the tournament.
The physical martial arts tournament consisted of two stages: digital and physical. Participants first fought in the video game Mortal Combat, and then fought in the Octagon under the rules of mixed martial arts (MMA). A total of 8 teams from Russia, USA, Bahrain and Armenia participated in the tournament. Each team had four athletes competing in a physical match.
It was noted that one of the most striking fights of the first day was the fight between Russian Halim Nazruloev and American Jorge Juarez. The fight in the 65.8 kilo category ended with a score of 11:0.
As the press service announced, on the eve of the victory, Nazruloev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the CIS countries during their familiarization tour of the City of “Games of the Future”.
“I was invited to the opening ceremony. The presidents of almost all the CIS countries were there. And I managed to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. I told him that tomorrow I will have the main fight of the night in the physical martial arts tournament against an American. He wished me good luck and I accepted this fight “I promised that I would not lose under any circumstances. This motivated me and I won,” he said.
After the end of the first day’s matches, GOR Union and RCC were at the top of the table with 19 points each. Behind them were MK Team (15), Kuznya (13) and Arabian Warriors (10).
The most anticipated fight on the second day of the competition was Vladislav Sukalenko from Krasnodar Kuznya, as he had previously won the Fidgetal Games. This time he won the dry on the joystick and won in the Octagon. Thus, the 11 points earned took his team to first place.
“Indescribable feelings! I am here for the second time, again with the trophy. Thank God we do not break this tradition. I hope we do not violate it in the future,” said Sukalenko.
The “Games of the Future” phygital tournament will run from February 21 to March 3. The sports program includes competitions in 21 innovative disciplines, which will be held at ten sports facilities in Kazan and Sochi.
